Main Entrance Café

Kick start your adventure at Taronga Zoo with a snack or lunch from our new Main Entrance café. Located just through the main gates, the menu includes sandwiches, wraps, pastries and a wide range of confectionary as well as a full range of Lavazza coffees.

Taronga Food Market 

The Taronga Food Market is a dining hall centrally located and overlooks the Asian Elephant enclosure. With seating for over 450 guests indoors and outdoors, it offers visitors an offering of 6 different food and beverage outlets with menus and prices to suit everyone. These outlets include;

Charco Pollo

11am to 3pm

Newly opened, Charco Pollo offers free range Lilydale chickens, chicken rolls half and quarter chicken meals as well as a range of fresh salads a range of soft drinks and alcoholic beverages (wine, beer only)

Taronga’s

11am to 3pm

Taronga’s NEW gourmet burgers, hot chips, crispy chicken wraps and super combo deals to suit everybody.

Bakery

9am to 4pm

Offering fresh healthy options such as sandwiches, focaccia, wraps, seasonal fruit salad as well as sweet pastries, Bakery also serves espresso coffee, hot beverages and soft drinks throughout the day.

Hot Wok

11am to 3pm

Hot Wok offers a daily selection of fresh stir fries, noodles and Asian dishes with fresh vegetables and homemade sauces.

Milk Bar

11am to 2pm (weather permitting)

For those with a sweet tooth, the Milk Bar offers both scoop and a selection of Streets ice creams as well as chips, confectionary and soft drinks.

Café Bar

(Open weekends and peak periods)

Located at the end of the Taronga Food Market, Café Bar offers a selection of soft drinks, alcoholic beverages (wine, beer only) as well as espresso coffee and a variety of pastries and slices. 

Café Harbourview

Overlooking Sydney Harbour, we offer waiter service from our café menu including Mediterranean platters, baguettes, Turkish breads, bagels, croissants, freshly made salads as well as a selection of hot food, as well as a delicious selection of sweets such as cakes, muffins and a wide variety of beverages. 

Fish & Chips Take away

11am – 3pm

The Fish and Chips Take Away outlet offers salt ‘n pepper squid, calamari, garlic prawns and our accredited sustainable seafood offering of hake & chips. We also offer children’s meals. With the Concert Lawns nearby, it is the ideal place to relax and take in the great harbour views.

Picnic Areas

Concert Lawns

The Concert Lawns overlook Sydney Harbour and are a perfect spot for a picnic at Taronga Zoo. They are located next to Backyard to Bush and near the toilets and Cafe Harbourview. The lawns often host concerts during school holidays.

Wollemi Lawns

A shady and peaceful place, this picnic area is located between the back of the Platypus Pools and opposite the Tasmanian Devil exhibit. Cafe Harbourview is nearby and there are plenty of picnic tables.

Soden Lawns

This three-tiered lawn boasts uninterrupted views of Sydney Harbour, the Bridge and the city skyline. The lawns are easily accessible by following the path past the condors behind the Rainforest Trail.
