Taronga’s Elephant Miracle

Taronga are delighted to welcome a new Asian Elephant Calf to the world. After six days of intensive effort by the mother Porntip, keepers and veterinarians feared the worst for our calf when they found none of the five vital signs of life. But on Wednesday morning at 3.27am, against all odds, a male calf was born.

Tell us which name you like best for your chance to win Taronga Zoo prizes.
