Taronga has developed a learning and experience intership program, this program will replace education volunteers for 2012.
To get involved see the webpage below;
Education Volunteers work alongside our Education team to provide support and guidance for visiting teachers and students. Once involved in the program, volunteers have the opportunity to progress through levels.
You need to enjoy working with school students, be prepared to be part of a team, have a keen interest in animals and education, and an ongoing willingness to learn. A decent level of fitness is required as you will be walking around the grounds on a regular basis.
Minimum commitment: 12 months, once per fortnight (negotiable).
Financial contribution: $25 Joining Fee + current Zoofriends membership
Training
All Education volunteers are required to complete a one day induction and a six week (one day per week) orientation training course.
