Jo volunteers every Wednesday, more often than not she is the co-ordinator on the day. She is thorough and organised. She is very accommodating when unexpected things crop up – only to pleased to assist Guest Services. She tries to ensure that her vol’s are given a variety of task and keeps them happy and motivated. Jo can be counted on – on the busiest of days and will assist guests as much as is humanly possible. She follows up on tasks and ensures that all around her feel supported. She is bubbly and thoughtful and a pleasure to work with. |

Alan has been described as a 'dream' volunteer as he is a constant delight to work with, people seem to be his passion, which with his engaging personality and encyclopedic knowledge of all things Taronga make him excellent in all aspects of his Volunteer role. Alan is a willing and enthusiastic volunteer who makes himself available for extra tasks and performs them cheerfully. He is a fine example to trainees and new volunteers. |

Dinah is a long standing volunteer who has helped many new volunteers and also coordinators in their day to day activities, regularly volunteering in multiple areas of the zoo Dinah's cheery disposition and hard work ethic ensures that everything that Dinah does is done to the highest standard. |

Dinah was instrumental in helping Zoo Parent get through a very busy Christmas period, often staying back until the work was done, which meant that Christmas orders were fulfilled on time, resulting in very happy Zoo Parents. She really is a wonderful member of our team and her wicked sense of humour is the bonus in getting to work with Dinah! |

Samira is kind hearted and always willing and enthusiastic to help out on section in any way she can. She is very keen to learn and is currently studying captive animal management and is going to study veterinary nursing next year as she has enjoyed it so much. |

| Volunteer Tracking Team 2012 |

The Volunteer tracking team was made up of Volunteers from across the Zoo, including ‘old hands’ and a few who were tracking on their very first day!! No matter the experience level, all the Volunteers - without fail – threw themselves into tracking with good humour, passion and support for the project. Many volunteers showed great initiative, proactively starting the tracks once trained and even doing multiple tracks on one day – that shows commitment!! At the end of the project 120 tracks were completed – around half by volunteers. |
