There are about 5000 species of living mammals on earth, from the tiniest bat to the imposing elephant and everything in between. This series of short courses gives you a detailed look into the care of native and exotic mammals and would suitable for professional development or even just for fun.
Care of Native Mammals
Care of Native Mammals focuses on those mammals found in Australia.
Note: on successful completion of this accredited short course, participants will be issued with a statement of attainment for the following Unit of Competency:
ACMSPE303A Provide basic care of common native mammals
This unit of competency covers the process of identifying common native mammals, their behavioural and physical needs, providing daily care requirements, assisting with behaviour requirements and basic preventative health measures.
Note: on successful completion of any of these accredited short courses, participants will be issued with a statement of attainment for the following Unit of Competency:

This unit of competency covers the process of identifying mammals and their behavioural and physical needs, providing daily care requirements, assisting with behavioural and basic preventative health measures.
Entry Requirements
Minimum age requirement for this course is 16 years of age.
Where is the course held?
The course will be held at Taronga Zoo.
Participants meet at the Taronga Zoo Main Entrance at 9.00am.
Duration
The course is presented over two days, 9.00am – 5.00pm.
