The Zoos’ Aboriginal Education Officers have developed a number of excellent Aboriginal education programs. These programs have been created in partnership with local Aboriginal communities and broadly aim to increase knowledge about Aboriginal culture and provide opportunities and support for Aboriginal students. Your students will discover ancient Australia as they journey through 60,000 years of history.

Indigenous Awareness Program

By engaging the most vulnerable indigenous children in animal husbandry, workshops and cultural activities, the Indigenous Awareness Program improves social skills and self-esteem.

Animals of the Dreaming Zoomobile

Animals of the Dreaming combines the excitement of meeting native animals with the mesmerising Dreamtime stories, for an engaging and educational experience.

Indigenous Scholarship Program

The Taronga Training Institute offers indigenous students the opportunity to benefit from a scholarship and work towards a Certificate II in Animal Studies.
