Taronga Western Plains Zoo Education Centre is a unique learning area where students are able to immerse themselves in an environment that encourages them to share in the joy of nature. These living classrooms are the ultimate teaching tools, allowing educators to motivate students by introducing them to live animals.
All Zoo education lessons and workshops meet K-12 outcomes from New South Wales syllabus. Key learning areas addressed by Zoo Education include Creative Arts, English, Mathematics, Science and Technology, History, Technical and Applied Science, Business Studies and HSIE.
To compliment your excursion we offer a free pre-visit video conference session with one of our trained Education Officers.
Bookings are made through DART Connections for NSW state schools.
If you are a non NSW state school, please contact us directly on (02) 9978 4624 or 9969 2455. To be able to access our session you must have video conference facilities.
This covers a stimulating range of topics and activities in Zoo Education for young children, including learning what Zoo Keepers do and following our Maths Trail.
