Taronga's Wild Australia Experience

Learn about wildlife from a real zookeeper who will take you on an exclusive tour and provide close encounters with some of Australia’s most remarkable creatures. 

Experience Includes

Visitors will receive an introduction to Australia's unusual wildlife including excellent photo opportunities with koalas, kangaroos and echidnas. Venture into the wilderness of the Australian bush, view the underground burrow of the endangered Bare-nosed or Common Wombat and explore the mysteries of the platypus. 

Your keeper will explain the special adaptations that enable these animals to live in harmony with the Australian environment. This tour is perfect for visitors who are interested in the environment and wildlife.

  • Tours daily at 10am and 2pm.
  • Small, personalised group fully escorted by a keeper.
  • Have a photo taken with koalas in their enclosure.
  • Hand-feed kangaroos and wallabies.
  • Visit a working “animal kitchen“ and see how the food is prepared.
  • Venture behind-the-scenes in the Australian Nightlife house and enjoy encounters with nocturnal creatures.
  • Meet hand-raised native animals.
  • Includes a round-trip on the Sky Safari cable car - discover why Taronga is known as "The Zoo with a View".
